i have a small request for you lovely people.
after spending some time in the uk last year, i got hooked on mock the week. unfortunately now that im back in australia, getting my hands on mock the week has become somewhat more difficult. i managed to watch the first episode thanks to the link below from the wonderous [info]supertailz but im craving the next two episodes and they seem to be nowhere to be found. i was wondering if any of you dears happen to have found your way to anywhere that i can watch it online, or even any links to downloads you may have come accross.
any help you can give would be most appreciated.
thanks ♥

Finally figured out the shit that was happening with WMM and made a video.

Yeah, yeah, not very original song choice, but I thought it nicely summed everything up and how their worlds really did change. Apologies for the lack of Prudence and not-so-great quality.

Comments are appreciated, but please be kind, this is one of my first vids.

I don't own anything, and copyright infringement was not intended.

Easy Mac & Cheese Casserole!

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 4:03 PM
I made a delicious Mac & Cheese casserole for lunch today. I was so happy with the way it came out that I held a little photo shoot for it.

deliiiiiicious. )

Recipe for the casserole:

Firstly - Make a box of mac & cheese according to the box instructions. Mine was shells that came with that foil baggy of cheese sauce.

Secondly - Fry up 4-6 strips of bacon until a little on the soggy side. Take off the heat and cut into bite sized chunks. Dry the strips between two sheets of paper towel. Once you've gotten most of the bacon grease off, return them to a pan on high heat for another 3-4 minutes until reddish brown and crispy. (If you prefer soggier bacon, skip the last step.)

Thirdly - Add half a cup of milk, a tablespoon of tabasco sauce and a 2 teaspoons of paprika to your mac and cheese. Mix well to incorporate.

Fourthly - Spray a 9 inch cake pan or casserole dish with cooking spray and pour the mac & cheese in. Cover with the bacon bits and then spread a layer of grated cheese over the top to cover.

Fifthly - Place the dish in the oven with the broiler setting on high and watch the cheese. Take the dish out once the cheese is bubbly and has those classic brown spots all over.

Enjoy!

Giant Saint-Just head on BBC2!

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 11:50 PM
Just turned on BBC2 after that last post to see a man wheeling a giant gold head of Saint-Just across a stretch of lawn! Which was very unexpected!
It was an item on the late Ian Hamilton Finlay's 'Little Sparta'! - so if anyone here can get the 'within-7-days' BBC watch again facility for The Culture Show it should be online for a few days (23.20, BBC2, Thursday 24th). The presenter seems weirdly unaware that the garden is a homage to Saint-Just and the Revolution...duh!

This might work (? - the Land Art 2 article on the website).

Nom d'un chien! (Brount).

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 11:27 PM
This may be a silly question, but what does the name 'Brount' mean? Does it translate as anything, or is it just for the sound - like calling a dog 'woof'? There's a Middle-English (medieval) word 'brount' meaning strike/blow - so I wondered if maybe it's an Old French/regional equivalent of calling a dog 'Buster' (or Tyson!)?

Also, does anyone know the source of the story that it was a Great Dane (Danois)? Is this just a historians' guess? (It was a fashionable dog breed at the time, as was a Mastiff - they're both insanely huge! Only the wolfhound is bigger - my cousin has one - it eats chairs).

Floor Cleaning!

  • Jul. 24th, 2008 at 1:07 PM
I didn't realize people were so passionate about floor cleaning! I love it! Yesterdays post regarding swiffers was heavy on my mind this morning as I swiffered away in the kitchen. I am curious - for all of you that do NOT like the swiffers - what do you use? I have hard wood all throughout the upstairs and linoleum in the kitchen and bathroom (we tried to rip it up to see if there was hard wood, but thankfully we did it where the fridge sits since there isn't!). I also have 2 boys under the age of 3 that really like to throw food and have drippy sippy cups (or try to paint with them). I have to clean my floors a LOT. Tell me how you wash your floors up, if you don't mind!
